Tomamos como punto de partida para la propuesta de este Concurso promovido por la EMVS, las naves de los cuarteles militares de la cercana calle Duquesa de Tamames, ya que su solución de bloques paralelos permite que las viviendas miren hacia jardines interiores en lugar de hacia la calle.

Una vez dispuestos estos bloques, que cruzan el solar apoyándose en otro que define el perímetro comercial en planta baja, se excavan pequeños patios individuales que servirán a una vivienda por planta. Todo estará modulado de tal modo que en planta baja puedan suprimirse algunos módulos para garantizar la continuidad de los jardines comunes.

Sobre un bloque perimetral comercial de base en planta baja, se elevan los bloques de viviendas que cruzan el solar y que disfrutan de pequeños patios individuales excavados. Con el fin de garantizar la continuidad de los jardines comunes, algunos de los módulos de vivienda son suprimidos.

El bloque perimetral que contiene los locales comerciales se construiría con hormigón, mientras que los bloques transversales con las viviendas se mostrarían más ligeros al ser acabados en chapa metálica blanca, tipo Robertson.

We took as a starting point for the proposal of this Contest promoted by the EMVS, the military barrack halls of the nearby Duquesa de Tamames street, since this solution of parallel blocks enables the houses to face an interior garden instead of the streets.

Once these blocks that cross the lot and lean on another that defines the commercial perimeter of the ground floor, a small individual courtyard for each house is excavated. Everything will be modulated in such a way that in the ground floor, some modules can be suppressed to guarantee the continuity of the here common gardens.

Laid on a basis established by a commercial perimeter block in the ground floor, the house blocks are raised crossing the lot and having small excavated individual courtyards. With the purpose of granting the continuity of the common gardens, some of the housing units in this ground floor are suppressed.

The surrounding block containing the commercial premises would be constructed in concrete, whereas the transversal blocks containing the housings, would appear lighter as they being finished in white Robertson type metal sheet.
