Se trata de un pequeño local en la planta baja de un edificio de viviendas y oficinas del Paseo de la Habana de Madrid, que se reforma para exponer y vender muebles de madera.
La idea principal del proyecto consiste en abrir todo lo posible el interior hacia la calle, por lo que se acristala toda la superficie de fachada, de suelo a falso techo, eliminando en lo posible las carpinterías de acero. Una fisura sobre el acristalamiento marca la separación entre el local y el edificio existente.
En el interior se pintan de blanco las paredes y el techo, mientras que el solado se resuelve continuo con mortero de cemento mezclado con árido de piedra caliza machacada.
This is a small premise located on the ground floor of an offices and housing building in the Paseo de la Habana street of Madrid, reformed to exhibit and sell wooden furniture.
The main idea of the project is to open the interior as much as possible to the street. For this reason, the entire surface of the façade, from floor to false ceiling, is glazed, eliminating as far as possible the steel joinery. A fissure on the glazing marks the separation between the commercial space and the existing building.
Inside, the walls and ceiling are painted in white, while the flooring is solved with continuous cement mortar mixed with crushed arid limestone.
